Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park Trabuco Canyo CA is a 2,500-acre regional park with riparian, oak woodland, grassland, and coastal sage scrub environments throughout canyons and hillscapes. The park features a red canyon made of rock, three streams, and historical artifacts from cattle ranching days.

Trails
Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park Trabuco Canyo CA is an expansive park with over 17 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. The park is comprised of 2,500 acres of oak woodland and riparian canyons, rolling grassland hills, and steep slopes of coastal sage scrub and chaparral.
For those looking to take in the scenery, there are plenty of easy hikes that offer great views. These include Borrego, Serrano, and Serrano Cow as well as Sleepy Hollow Canyon.
For a more challenging hike, try the Billy Goat Excursion Loop. It is a short trail but it’s steep and narrow.
Hiking
Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park Trabuco Canyo CA offers a great range of hiking trails. From oak-filled canyons to windy single-track trails, this park has something for everyone.
There are 23 trails within the park, and each one offers a unique experience. You can explore riparian, oak woodland and grassland canyons, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral hills.
The 5.2-mile Whiting Ranch Loop starts at the Glenn Ranch Road parking lot and follows Coyote Brush Road, which climbs a bit initially before dropping down to Serrano Cow Trail (which is aptly named). You’ll see remnants of the 2007 Santiago Fire as you make your way through Sleepy Hollow Canyon.
This hike can be done in just over an hour and forty-five minutes. Be sure to bring water as it can get very hot during the summer. Explore more!

This park is popular among hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. It has a network of fire roads and singletrack that connects to other trails, making it a great place for local riders to enjoy a challenging ride.

The park features a range of events and activities. Aside from hiking and mountain biking, there are also a number of family events like an annual chili cook-off, entertainment, vendors, and a petting zoo.
